Meet Sarah Lawson.

Sarah Lawson (she/her)

Sarah Lawson has a Bachelor of Science (Psychology concentration) from McMaster University, a Juris Doctor from Queen’s University, and a graduate Career Development Practitioner certificate from Fanshawe College. As a lawyer, she served as a federal prosecutor and criminal defence counsel for many years and has successfully counselled and educated thousands of clients to manage legal challenges.

While at McMaster, she was the leader of a 100-student peer helper program, where she worked with students to support their career and educational planning and helped them develop résumés and job search and interview skills. Always active in her community, Sarah is the Vice Chair of the board of directors for STRIDE, a Halton non-profit organization that supports youth and adults struggling with mental health or addiction as they seek meaningful employment.

Sarah brings her skills and expertise from her law career to counselling and educating students in the career and educational planning process. She works with high school, college and university students, as well as with people at various stages of their career development to support transitions.
