Life’s Too Short: Love What You Do

According to research, happiness in life does not directly correlate with money. The link between income and happiness ends once someone earns an annual income of $75,000. For most people, working at a job they love is more fulfilling, productive and important than money.

So why should you do what you love?

1.     You will feel more fulfilled: Your career should make you feel good emotionally, both in and out of the workplace.

2.     You will be more productive: Your career should motivate and inspire you. Without motivation to excel, your performance will lack passion and your work may suffer. Plus, as a bonus, productivity makes you more efficient which leaves more room for downtime and work-life balance.

3.     You will inspire others: By following your dreams and doing what you love, you become an inspiration to others. Lead by example. Show your children and the next generation of workers what it looks like to be inspired to find a career that fulfills them and that they are passionate about.

4.     You will succeed: When you love what you do, you will be compelled to do your best work because it feels natural and exciting. When you enjoy your job, it doesn’t always feel like work.

5.     You will be happy. ‘Nuff said.
