At Lawson Career Solutions, we are proud to stand with the 2SLGBTQ+ community and celebrate the vibrant diversity that makes us all unique. This Pride month, we are reflecting on how we can make our practice more inclusive for 2SLGBTQ+ clients.

In our commitment to equality, we are ensuring that our practice is a welcoming and safe space for all our clients. We want everyone who interacts with our practice to feel safe, respected, and valued. We strive to use gender-neutral language when describing our services and make it clear to all that our practice is inclusive and non-judgmental. We respect the name that clients wish to be called, we ask clients for their preferred pronouns, and we make an effort to use correct pronouns in order to demonstrate respect and validation for their gender identity.

Another step we are taking is to read 2SLGBTQ+ books and stories, to enhance our understanding and competence in working with clients. We believe that reading 2SLGBTQ+ stories can help give us broaden our knowledge of the experiences and perspectives of 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, which will contribute to our personal and professional growth, and allow us to provide more affirming, sensitive and effective counselling services to our clients.

We believe that supporting the 2SLGBTQ+ community should extend beyond Pride month, and we will continue to make a year-round commitment to create a more inclusive and accepting society for all individuals. Let’s create a world where everyone can live authentically and proudly.
